Peppermint "Excuse My Beauty" Day 2 Director Brendan Cochrane DP Matt Workman

Peppermint "Excuse My Beauty" Day 2 Director Brendan Cochrane DP Matt Workman. Great shoot at HK Lounge. Once again the crew delivered big besides being thrown curve balls at the last minute. Twenty extras didn't show - the Fire Department came by after the hazer set off the club alarm and we had to deal with getting a select number of shots in a small window. Big thanks to Frank who came through even though the budget didn't, Matt for dealing with the location and doing a great job lighting, Tracy for staying on top of the schedule and managing a multitude of tasks, Osaliki, for bartending and rigging, Tony, JP and Greame who did a great job with G&E, Diana for set photo and cameo and Marc Miller & Marc Levine for all their support while I'm at work trying to put this together. Looking forward to some big projects in 09 and I definitely want these guys on the crew. Thank you.

Peppermint "Excuse My Beauty" Director Brendan Cochrane DP Matt Workman

Peppermint "Excuse My Beauty" Directed by Brendan Cochrane DP Matt Workman Production Manager Tracy Utley. A glamorous shoot at Splash and HK Lounge with less glamorous production obstacles but the crew delivered despite the schedule and fly decision making that is now common to the music video business. My second directorial foray and I am really looking to carve out some good work. Good work comes with a good crew and I could never do it without these guys. Big thanks to Peppermint, Tracy, Matt, Diana, Frank, Tony, Sorin, Julie, Roger and Nathan. Thanks to the Chinese manufacturers of the kick ass play back system that has wheels and a self contained battery that charges and runs on an ipod - technology man!! RED soon to be replaced by a camera you buy from a vending machine.

Big big thanks to Blaq Poet, Gordon, DJ Premier, Matt, Frank, Cisco, Tracy, Julie, Nathan, Tony, Max, Annie, Marc MCM, the guys in Queensbridge houses and the cooperation of everyone who made this happen. Toby Love - Director Frank Blanco

Toby Love Director Frank Blanco - DP Matt Workman. Great locations Gary's loft Brooklyn and the park under the Brooklyn bridge as well as a Diner and another exterior - yes it was a one day shoot all after coming off a twelve hour job with no sleep.
The only guy in the picture who is not smiling is the guy who hadn't slept for 40 hours. Good job to everyone and especially to Matt and Morgan.

Sean Avolio Don't Fall For Me - Director/DP Ben Jacks

Artist Sean Avolio Don't Fall For Me - Director Ben Jacks. First time working with a Director/DP operator - very good crew and Ben knew what he wanted. Great time and they got some good footage. Looking forward to some more projects with these guys if they had the RGH crew they would be unstoppable:) Thanks to Director Noah Shulman for the referral and I am looking forward to the edit.

Los Fenomenos Director Edgar Marrera

Well there are music videos and then there are long music videos - this was a long music video. The fact that Frank's guys lugged up half the grip truck up six flights of stairs was a feat itself but we are a pretty close knit crew at least so far. There are only so many no elevator 20 hour music video jobs you can do and produce a nine camera event the same day but that's why when you need a producer you call 917 375-1182. I make sure there will be an elevator or a team of Sherpas waiting with a smile. Shout out to Matt who not only worked the whole job but who had to get up in four hours to get on a plane to shoot another music video. The **** we do!

2008 Pan No Gi Championships Nat Hollman Gymnasium

Thanks also to Andre Fernandes event organizer. Great job to all and we look forward to more multi camera events.

Pure MTV2 601 Studios

Pure Director EJ McLeavey-Fisher DP Matt Workman Producer Sean Linehan. Great day smooth shoot very cool and casual crew. They got the work done in an efficient and pleasant day. Matt said something to me which made a lot of sense. You can give someone all the toys - gadgets etc. But it takes the talented one's to really bring out the best. These guys are a good crew that can do that. I enjoyed working with them and hopefully we can do it again. Two big jobs this weekend 9 camera Jiu Jitsu competition and a Music Video. More to come.

Joey Shakespear Rehearsals

Joey Shakespear back on the block. After being performed at the New York Public Theater as part of the New Work Now Series in 2003 and winning a PEN award Brendan is doing what he wants to do which is direct. Thanks to some talented actors Max Woertendyke and Steven Bennett this play is being performed at Backyart this Saturday. These guys are bringing the play up a notch. On the way home after rehearsal I ran into Mos Def its pouring rain I'm on my bike he's walking crossing in front of me and I'm trying to talk to him about 16 Blocks - it was pretty funny. But he did tell me he's doing something with George Wolfe - maybe the theater scene is back?

Following on the success of the first video, the team at Scene Interactive fleshed out a full marketing EPK shot both outside their 26th Street studios and inside with green screen. Hey Monday - Director Noah Shulman

Asbury Park Lanes Hey Monday Directed by Noah Shulman produced by Brendan Kyle Cochrane. This was a great video. The song is called Homecoming and the band has a really good sound and I am confident they will take off. MTV's the real word was on set filming the making of the video which was something different. The crew really delivered on this one and for all the effort put into this I think it was worth it. Thanks to Noah, Matt, Frank, Morgan, Tony, Sorin, Mike and the rest of the crew who kept the pace. And especially the the robust extra who so gracefully blocked one of the best choreographed takes to be followed by a bowler who tried to bowl with no ball. Unbelievable!

"Brother" Director Roberto Lopez - Brendan Kyle Cochrane 2d Unit DP

Brother Directed by Roberto Lopez is a short film that has been in production for a year now. Originally titled 2 Piece Meal this film follows the story of several characters as they live out their lives and impulses in the gritty Newark area. Don't want to say too much about the film as Roberto is very passionate about it and has been keeping it under wraps. Filming in probably the most dangerous Chicken shack in Newark was a welcoming experience for all crew associated with this film. I know Matt appreciated it:) Kudos to the guys that sell chicken in Newark and dodge bullets.

Majic Juan - Director James Latin Clark - DP Matt Workman

Another Matt Workman-Inconspicuous Productions Extravaganza. Very cool Artist, Song and Director. Green Screen Shoot in Brooklyn - blocks from Matt's house. Not only is Matt stepping up but the productions seem to be literally coming to him. Ahhh the life. Its great watching a Director ask for more jiggle to an ass - another day of work. More to come. For all you regular Directors your chairs have arrived. Stay tuned.

Media at Large Screening Opening

Media at Large is planning a screening of their feature film "Exposed" starring Shashi Balooja. They wanted a corporate welcome to the film prior to the screening outlining the release and the company profile of Media at Large. Director Roger Sewhcomar brought out a smile when he agreed to let me tape cash to the Matte Box. If you want your talent smiling put a twenty under the Matte Box. Its the old horse and carrot trick.

Dominique Rosario CO-Directors Marc Miller & Marc Levine - DP Brendan Cochrane Day 2

Another knock out day with Dominique Rosario. We had an awesome dance chroreography set up on Gansevort Street in Manhattan. Everyone really pulled together on this video and I think it is going to stand out. Dominique has a great sound and a loyal team behind her. Thanks to everyone who participated it was a lot of work and a lot of fun. The blog photos don't do the justice of the footage but hopefully it will be on a network near you soon. Another shoot tomorrow in seven hours, but I'm loving it.

Day 1 Dominique Rosario CO-Directors Marc Miller & Marc Levine - DP Brendan Cochrane

Just finished awesome video with Dominique Rosario who has a great sound and a great look. We had a steamroller crew who fully came together to deliver a great first day. Day 2 tomorrow in three hours. Frank the man from RGH did his thing. Morgan was a trooper and working with the CO-Directors which was a new experience for me really gelled. Despite a dolly with three wheels, the keys getting locked in the grip truck, and lugging a 6500 genny and a ton of grip and electric equipment to the roof, I wouldn't trade this video experience for any other. It was great. I think the phone is going to be ringing after this one. PS new Ultimate on the way!

The Wonder of Seesaws Director Ian Fischer

Great short film directed by Ian Fischer. Shot with the Letus Extreme 35mm Adapter and Zeiss/Nikon lens set, and an awesome crew. The film is scheduled to be part of a series of shorts that is strung together as a feature - all having the same dialogue but visually interpreted according to each writer/director's interpretation. Great time filming, looking forward to the finished product. Stay tuned more to come.

Los Productivos Director Edgar Marrera

Just finished a marathon 20 hour music video for Director Edgar Marrera. Great video and a great track. Despite the long hours I really enjoyed working with Edgar and Frank the man behind RGH and the lighting crew. By the time I finished downloading the footage it was three a.m, the job started seven a.m, the day before and then I had another job Sunday shooting a short film. Great job to the crew and looking forward to the video and the release.

Some notable people there LA Reid, Jermaine Dupri and several artists. Liked the event and the sounds. The still above is a new group One Block Radius who were just signed less than a month ago. Melimel Director Frank Florencio

Melimel Director Frank Florencio DP Matt Workman Brendan Kyle Cochrane second unit DP. Another Frank Florencio production, big lights, generator truck, Matt Workman so overworked he was drinking Red Bull and eating crackers working on auto pilot. After a slew of videos he looked like he needed some well deserved rest. Nonetheless he was shooting great. At nine o'clock it was time for me to step up to the plate as Matt had another video!! I have to admit I was a little nervous trying to fill Matt's shoes over a hundred people outside, motorcycles, cars, and the biggest speaker system I have ever seen in a car. But it was great. Thanks to Frank and Matt looking forward to the finished product. Stay tuned more to come.

CSI:Miami

Spent some time with the crew on CSI:Miami and got a chance to check out the big dogs in action. Joe Chapelle is a very talented director and I was always a big fan of the Wire, hope to get to see Joe again and I always enjoy seeing the professionals in action. One day I hope to have a show of my own.

LA Trip Finished Script

Went to LA to complete feature film crime drama that I have been commissioned to write for over a year now. Great time, completed script, celebrated birthday, went to beach, met Jesse Terrero which was very cool, and am really looking to grow the company to start making some big projects out there. Great time and no matter what people say about LA if you work with good people you will be with good people.

We are pulling out all the stops on this one so stay tuned. Thanks to Alex Camilleri for the artwork. As soon as we begin production the updates will be posted.

Day 2 Exterior Less Than Jake

Day 2 Exterior Less Than Jake. Director Noah Shulman. Lots of street shots, handheld, and driving. DP Matt Workman doing what he does best - getting great coverage. Should turn out pretty good. Williamsburg is definitely a different place than it was ten years ago. I had to get the shot of the burner on the wall before it becomes a condo or a Starbucks.
